In addition to survey items (i.e., demographics, retention, satisfaction, tempo, stress, and readiness) used in all Status of Forces Surveys (SOFS), the June 2012 SOFS-A included items on deployments since September 11, 2001, impact of deployments, permanent change of station (PCS) moves, Military OneSource, and financial health. Items on the following topics were also included: satisfaction with aspects of military life, details on OPS/PERSTEMPO, details on readiness, military life, relatives serving in the Armed Forces, programs and services, commissaries and exchanges, education, milConnect Web site, health and well-being, health care, tobacco, attitudes toward drinking alcohol, military/civilian comparisons, child care, retirement, Thrift Savings Plan (TSP), housing, and repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" (DADT). (Repeal of DADT data were provided to the DADT Repeal Implementation Team and are not included in this tabulation volume.)
