In addition to survey items on demographics (Selected Reserve program; employment; student status), the January 2012 Status of Forces Survey of Reserve Component Members (SOFS-R) included items on activations/deployments since September 11, 2001; effects of activations/deployments; and retention and future activations. Survey data will assist Under Secretary of Defense (Personnel & Readiness) policy offices with decisions related to activations/deployments and changes specifically related to the future role of the Reserve component. Results for 139 demographic groups and subgroups are available.
