In addition to survey items (e.g., demographics, retention intention) used in all Status of Forces Surveys (SOFS), the April 2008 SOFS-A included items on deployments since September 11, 2001, child care, spouse employment, education, compensation, financial health, language capability, injuries, personal work experiences, the military workplace, and permanent change of station (PCS) moves.
