This report describes the sampling and weighting methodologies for the June 2012 Status of Forces Survey of Reserve Component Members (June 12 SOFS-R). The first section describes the design and selection of the sample. The questionnaire was divided into four modules, all participants were asked to complete Module A questions, and U.S. Coast Guard Reserves members (Non-DoD) received Module A questions only. Within each stratum, one third of the DoD participants were randomly selected to complete Module B questions, one third to complete Module C questions, and one third of participants were randomly selected to complete Module D questions. The second section describes weighting and variance estimation for the four modules. The final section describes the calculation of response, location, and completion rates for the full sample and population subgroups by module.
