This report describes the sampling and weighting methodologies for the 2013 Status of Forces Survey of Reserve Component Members (2013 SOFS-R). The first section describes the design and selection of the sample. DMDC divided the questionnaire into four modules so that all participants were asked Module A questions and two of the remaining three modules, meaning two-thirds of the participants received each of Module B, C, and D. The second section describes weighting and variance estimation for all four of these modules. The final section describes the calculation of response, location, and completion rates for the full sample and population subgroups by module.
